Removal of Head Office of Union Insurance Society, Canton, from Hong Kong to,Singapore.
Transmits copy Hong Kong telegram No. 367 of 1st July reporting that Society is proposing to remove its head office. It has a world wide insurance business and its management feels that asset of public confidence will be lost in other parts of world where present local political situation is not understood. Local business is inconsiderable. Is advised that subject to necessary legal steps being taken Government has no power in matter.
