Rumoured plan to raid Soviet Embassy at Peking.

Addressed Shanghai No.195. Secretary and Chief of Police of Diplomatic quarters received secret warning from a White Russian whose bona fides he has no reason to doubt that White Russian organisation formed by Japanese is planning to raid Soviet Embassy premises. It is difficult to believe Japanese would at this juncture countenance such a flagrant infringement of Diplomatic status of Soviet Embassy and Diplomatic quarters, but Mr.Archer and Chief of Police thought it well to communicate information to United States Embassy as Senior Diplomatic Mission in case question of guards should have to be considered.
