Liberation of Chinese soldiers formerly in hospital at Hangchow.
Refers to his despatch No. 229 of 29th August, 1938 (F 10419/8890/10/38).
Encloses copy of despatch No.174 to Embassy Shanghai, recording subsequent developments in the case, and stating that five men were returned to hospital in need of treatment, 43 were released on 3rd November, 59 for concentration camp were transferred to Shanghai on 22nd November, and on 9th April whole of the Chinese wounded soldiers interned in the hospital were liberated by Japanese military police at Hangchow.
