Dear Mr. Chang,
ith reference to your letter to Sir John Brenen
of the 29th March last on the subject of the position
of Chinese students in this country in the event of
war, I am sorry to say that we are not yet able to
let you have a definite reply, as the matter is still
under consideration by the competent government
departments.
In the meantime, I should be grateful
if you would let me have, for the information of the
Board of Education, the numbers and names of any
Chinese students who to your knowledge are attending
non-University institutions such as the London
Polytechnic or Manchester College of Technology.
