Dear Mr. Chang,

ith reference to your letter to Sir John Brenen

of the 29th March last on the subject of the position

of Chinese students in this country in the event of

war, I am sorry to say that we are not yet able to

let you have a definite reply, as the matter is still

under consideration by the competent government

departments.

In the meantime, I should be grateful

if you would let me have, for the information of the

Board of Education, the numbers and names of any

Chinese students who to your knowledge are attending

non-University institutions such as the London

Polytechnic or Manchester College of Technology.

Yours sincerely

(ad) AL.& cott

Mr. Chang Su-Lee.
