With reference to Mukden Printed Letter despatch
No. 8)of the 16th January last, I have the honour to
report that a notification issued by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in the Official Gazette of the 28th
February announced the closing of two Japanese Consulates-
General, five Consulates and three Consular branch offices
in Manchuria as from that date. The establishments
closed are the Consulates-General at Mukden and Tsitsihar,
the Consulates at Chinchow, Chihfeng, Chengtieh, Kirin
and Yenki, and the branch offices at Antung, Paichengtze
and Halun Arhshan of the Consulates-General at Mukden and
Tsitsihar and of the Consulate at Hailar respectively.
2.
The opening of a Japanese Consulate at Taiyuan,
Shansi Province, as from the 1st March, was also announced
on the same day.
