Sir A. Clark Kerr's despatch No. 160 [of 20th February
silk monopoly].
If the regulations are strictly enforced I agree that they
constitute a monopoly against which a further protest should be
made.
2. Please report to what extent British silk interests
are actually affected by the new company. For instance are
Jardine Matheson and Company prevented from obtaining supplies
for their filatures in the Settlement? See Sir A. Clark Kerr's
despatch No. 737 of 20th September, 1938.
