Dear Martin,

Martin Jizim 1575

There has been some delay in answering your letter of the 21st March about the testing of American U.H.F. and I.F.F. equipment, because I have been waiting for an opportunity to discuss this with the Commander-in-Chief, Far East Station.

I have now had a

2.

chance of speaking to Admiral Scott-Moncrieff about this and he has told me that the testing will be done out at sea with United States carrier aircraft and two frigates of the Royal Navy.

I have no objection to this method of testing the equipment.

Yours ever,

Manan

Sir John Martin, K. C.M.G., C.B.,

C.V.O.,

Assistant Under-Secretary of State, Far Eastern Department,

Colonial Office,

LONDON.
