My telegram No. 181: Kowloon incident.

Today's "Ieoples Daily" gives considerable space on the back page to angry reaction within China. On March 6th 25 associations in Canton met and issued joint statement protesting that the Hong Kong authorities did not permit the Comfort Mission to come to Kowloon and conduct a detailed investigation of the firing and deliberately caused a bloody incident.

The statement demands that those arrested be released, the injured compensated and the guilty punished. There is an account of protest meetings conducted by various Hong Kong labour unions.

There

The Hong Kong Government press release is refuted. is an account of protest letters written by various associations in North China.
