Many thanks for your letter of 4th March.
I am grateful to you and to the Governor of Hong Kong for sending me the report of the investigation of
Mrs. Elliot's statements about the Diamond Hill Squatters.
I am glad to hear that the standards of the Hong Kong Government in the administration of resettlement do not seem to have been lowered in this case, and I look forward to the announcement of future housing policy foreshadowed in your letter.
I hope the consideration of the selection of unofficial members of the Executive and Legislative Councils will lead to the selection of nominees from a somewhat wider background in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
Jeremy Bray
