Note by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff,

The Chiefs of Staff at their 432nd Meeting on 23rd December, 1941:-

"Invited the War Office as a matter of urgency to

make proposals for increasing the number of heavy and light anti-aircraft equipments in Convoy W. S. 15 at the expense, if necessary, of other less important stores."

After investigation it was found that it would be possible in the time available to have the following additional guns shipped in W. S. 15 provided a decision was taken immediately.

Heavy anti-aircraft guns (mobile) 16

Light anti-aircraft guns

The only available source of supply of guns was Anti-Aircraft Command.

Orders were, therefore, issued for 16 heavy anti-airer and 36 light anti-aircraft guns to be withdrawn forthwith m Anti Aircraft Command and despatched to ports for Suplent in W. S. 15.

The Chiefs of Staff are asked to approve the aption which has been taken as set out in paragraph 4 of this paper.
