(a) The Commander-in-Chief of the French and British
troops in Central and West Africa shall be British.
(5) A French Commander-in-Chief of all French forces will
be appointed, who will be under the British Commander-in-Chief. Through him the British Commander-in-Chief will exercise command over the French forces.
(c) In the event of the British Commander-in-Chief becoming
a casualty, command will pass to the next senior British officer.
(a) In the event of French and British troops being
employed together in the same theatre of operations, a special commander will be appointed, who may be either French or British according to circumstances, i.e. the proportion of French and British troops engaged, and the locality.
(e) The French Commander-in-Chief will maintain a mission,
in which all sections of his staff are represented, at the headquarters of the British Commander-in-Chief.
(I) The British Commander-in-Chief will keep liaison
officers at the headquarters of the French Commander- in-Chief.
