We are apprehensive that the time taken for there mobile

reserves to reach points at which the enemy have gene- trated the coastal defended zone may be unduly long. We fully agree that having reg.rd to the limited forces available our main reserves must not be concentrated too close to the coast. Nevertheless, we are not entirely satisfied that the present location of the main reserves is sufficiently far forward to enable them effectively to counter a penetration of the forward defences.
