Akureyri and Siglufjordur.

These are important towns on the North Coast of the island with several piers for small ships and repair shops. It is believed that Akureyrifiord could accommodate a cruiser squadron, and the country, upon which aircraft could land in dry weather, lies about 20 miles to the South of this town.

Seydisfjordur and Djupivogur.

These ports are on the East Coast, with no road communication with the rest of the island. There are believed to be possible landing grounds in the vicinity of these towns. The ports have a number of piers and there is a good machine shop at Seydisfjordur.

Hofn.

Possesses what appears to be a land-locked harbour suitable as a seaplane base. It is connected to Seydisfjordur by a bridle path.

Isafjordur »

This port has several piers, repair shops, etc., and lies on the extreme North-West extremity of the Island. There are no road communications with the rest of Iceland.
