Direct contact is provided for from the Director to the Brigade Groups for technical training and to Companies and Commandos detailed for an operation.

Commandos.

The first Commando of 300 men has been formed, a flotilla has been commissioned, and it will be operating very shortly. The remaining Commandos, each of about 500 men,

I would like to aim at a total are in course of formation. of 5,000 to start with. Parachutists should be taken from volunteers in the Commandos.

Independent Comapnies.

A proposed new establishment for the Independent Companies, reducing their strength to about 2,000 men each, has been forwarded to the War Office.
