47. Section nine of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1882, and Extension 5 the enactments amending or affecting the same shall, so far as they are consistent with this Act, extend to so much of every county as is not comprised within the limits of a borough in like manner as if they were herein re-enacted with the substitution of

48. A person shall be disqualified for being elected and for being Disqualifi a councillor under the same circumstances under which a person, is cation of disqualified for being elected and being a councillor of a municipal borough, and section twelve of the Municipal Corporations Act, 15 1882, and the enactments amending or affecting that section, shall, so far as they are consistent with the provisions of this Act, extend to county councillors in like manner as if they were herein re-enacted, with the substitution of “county” for “borough " and of “ chairman of the county" for "mayor."

Registration.

49. The Parliamentary and Municipal Registration Act, 1878, Registration as amended by the Registration Act, 1885, shall, so far as circum- electors and stances admit, apply to every parish in a county not situate in a burgesses. municipal borough, and to every municipal borough in like manner

25 as if such parish or borough were a municipal borough, the whole or part of the area of which is co-extensive with or included in the area of a parliamentary borough.

In the construction of the said Acts for the purpose of their application by this section, there shall be made the variations 30 following, and such other variations as may

be necessary for carry- ing into effect such application, that is to say :-

(a.) "Parliamentary county" shall be substituted for "Parlia

mentary borough";

(b.) "County clerk" shall be substituted for "town clerk,” save where the context requires a reference to the town clerk of a municipal borough;

(c.) The roll of electors shall be called the county roll and the roll of electors for an electoral division shall be called the division roll, and county roll and division roll shall be sub- stituted for burgess roll and ward roll;
