A.D. 1885. liquors are sold or exposed for sale by retail in their county or in any specified part of their county, being some electoral division or divisions thereof, shall be closed on Sunday either during the whole day, or during such of the hours during which by law such premises might otherwise be open as are specified in the resolution. 5 The Licensing Acts, 1872-1874, and the Acts thereby amended, shall apply in the case of any premises required by such resolution to be closed as if they had been closed under those Acts.
Transfer of licensing powers.
Nothing in such regulations shall preclude the sale at any time at a railway station of intoxicating liquors to persons arriving at 10 or departing from such station by railway.
Such regulations shall not take effect until after the general annual licensing meeting held next after the date thereof nor until they have been published by advertisements, placards, hand bills, written notices to the licensees of the licensed premises affected and 15 otherwise as the council may think expedient for the purpose of making such regulations known in the county or part to which they apply.
13. (1.) On and after the appointed day, all powers of licensing houses for the sale of intoxicating liquors vested in the quarter 20 sessions of a county, or in the justices of a county out of sessions, shall be transferred to and vested in the county council; and of those powers, all such as have been excrcised by the quarter sessions, or by any committee appointed by the quarter sessions shall, from and after the said appointed day, be exercised by the 25 county council, and all such as have been exercised by the justices out of sessions shall be exercised in each electoral division by the statutory committee of that division.
