Land Transfer.

A.D. 1886. shall ascertain what amount of compensation is due, in manner provided by the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845, with respect to interests in land which have by mistake been omitted to be purchased, and having ascertained the same, shall certify the amount to the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury; and upon such certificate being given the amount therein mentioned shall, within two months, be paid out of the Consolidated Fand to the person found by the court to be entitled thereto.

5. The Land Transfer Board may, with the consent of the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, conclude a compromise 10 with any person claiming compensation by any such application as aforesaid; and any sum of money agreed to be paid upon any such compromise shall be paid out of the Consolidated Fund.
26. Whenever any person has recovered compensation out of the Consolidated Fund in pursuance of this Act, if the not or default 15 by reason of which such compensation became payable was caused, either directly or indirectly, by the deceit, negligence, or fraud of any person, such person shall be deemed to be a debtor to the Crown for the amount of compensation so recovered, and of the costa, charges, and expenses incurred in the recovery thereof; 20 and no person shall be relieved from liability to pay such amount as aforesaid by reason that the act or default in respect of which his liability arises constitutes a felony or other offence punishable criminally.
Miscellaneous.
27. Leasehold land for the purposes of this Act means only land held under such a lease as entitles the proprietor or person having the power to dispose thereof to be registered under the principal Act, or to cause a purchaser to be registered under that Act.

28. The forty-first section of the principal Act shall be repealed 30 on and after the passing of this Act, and in place thereof be it enacted-
On the death of the sole registered proprietor, or of the survivor of several joint registered proprietors of any freehold land the executor or administrator of such sole deceased proprietor, or of 35 the survivor of such joint proprietors, shall be entitled to be registered as proprietor in his place.
The executor or administrator so registered in the place of deceased proprietor shall hold the land in respect of which he is registered upon the trusts and for the purposes to which the mme 40
