(c) That, in regard to any proposal

touching the possible withdrawal of British troops from the Citadel, Cairo, Sir Austen Chamberlain should make it perfectly clear that it is a matter he is not willing to discuss at present:

(d) That in the event of any proposal for the evacuation of the Kasr el Nil Barracks, insomuch or before the War we had agreed to evacuate these Barracks and had accepted payment for them, Sir Austen should not meet a proposal accompanied by an offer for the provision of alternative accommodation, with a flat negative, but should make it clear that the site of the alterna- tive accommodation must be subject to our approval.
