(C.)—Communications.
The communication between the Victoria Reserve and Stonecutter's, Kowloon, and Lyemun is by sea-steam-launches taking 35, 15, and 45 minutes respectively. To Lyemun there is also communication by a good metalled road, nearly level, which runs along the north shore of the island, the distance being about 8 miles.
The same road is continued westward to the Belcher's Section, and thence, proceeding over the neck between Mount Davis and High West by a gentle gradient, runs at a short distance from the sea along the fronts of the four southern sections, through Pokfulum, Aberdeen, and Deep Water Bay, and on to Stanley.
The southern and south-eastern sections are also connected directly with the Victoria Reserve by the paths which they severally guard, namely :-
The Pokfulum Section by the road leading from the reservoir over the Victoria Gap, and also by various tracks leading up the spurs of Mount Kellett.
The Mount Kellett Section, by the road leading from Aberdeen Docks up the valley to Mount Gough, and thence over either the Victoria or Plantation Gaps to Victoria.
