Headquarter Office Whitfield Barracks

The Chinese messengers are provided at Headquarters and Whitfield Barracks by the O.C. A.S.C. At all other offices Section or other Commanding Officers must arrange for orderlies.

Lights and tents (where buildings do not exist) are provided by Section (or other) Commanders. Stationery is provided by O. i/c Telephones.

(F.)-Action by the Brigade Signalling Officer.

1. He will act under the orders of the General Staff Officer.

2. He will take over all the regimental signallers from the Officer Commanding Infantry Battalions, and will detail them to their posts according to Table F.

3. The R.A. signallers will be required for R.A. and examination service purposes only.

4. He will periodically inspect the signalling equipment held on charge by the Officers Commanding Sections, and bring to their notice, and to that of the General Staff Officer, any deficiencies.

5. The following officers are authorized to send "Clear line messages

General Officer Commanding.

General Staff Officer. D.A.A. and Q.M.G. Section Commanders. Intelligence Officer. Fire Commanders. O.C. E.L. and T.

6. The English message form is to be used. All figures are to be spelled out. All proper names are to be written in block capitals.

7. All posts will be manned at the precautionary stage, and communication throughout established. Officers Commanding Sections and Fire Commands are responsible that all signalling stations in their sections receive their rations.

8. The C.O.O. will place six heliographs and six signalling lamps complete at the disposal of the Brigade Signalling Officer, to be issued on requisition.
