RUBBERS.—The market has been quieter and not so many shares have been changing hands; rates, however, continue firm and some stooks are in demand without finding sellers. The follow- ing sales have taken place during the week. Damansaras et £3 17, Balgownies at 53 and 54 (Straits dollars), Valambrosas at 22/9 ani 22/7), Anglo-Malays at 14/7), ant Shelfords at 30/7.
MISCELLANEOUS.-Borneos have been done at 13, Dairys at 17), Cements at 8.70, hina Lights at 64, and Watsons at 8, the thres last stocks closing with sellers and the two first with buyers. Ropes, Electrics and Ices con tinue on offer without acy sales to report.

The T.T. rate on London is 2/41. Banks.--Hongkong & Shanghai Banks. No business reported. There have been sellers all the week at $1,030, with no buyers. Insurance. No business reported. Shipping - Shanghai Tug & Lighter Co The only sale under this heading was on 1st at Tls. 431 cash. Sugara and Mining-No business reported. Docks and Wharves. Shanghai Dock & Eng, Co. Shares charged hands on August 31 and September 2 at Tis. 79 for cash and Tls. 80 for September respec- tively. Shanghai & Hongkow Wharves. Bu-i- ness was done in Wharves on the 27th and 31st at Tls. 147 for September ex div.. Industrial.- Cotton Stocks. Laou-Kung Mows changed hands on the 30th and 31st at Tls. 113 September, clos- ing quotation being Tis. 113; sellers September and Tis. 112) cash, Ewos. These have strength- ened considerably, sales being put through on the 30th, 31st, 1st and 2nd at Tls. 133 cash, Tls. 138 Sept. and Tls. 142 December. Shanghai Cottons.

In Tebongs business has been reported at Tls. 17, closing with buyers at this rate. Senawangs changed hands on the 2nd at Tls. 230 for cash. Maatschappij, etc., in Lang- kats. Business was reported on the 27th at Tls. 1,0674-1,070 cash; on the 28th at Tls. 1,087); on · the 30th at Tis. 1,050 cash; on the 31st at Tls. 1,040-1,035 September; on the 2nd at Tis. 1,030 September, closing with buyers at Tls, 1,050 cash and September.
