FREIGHT.
SHANGHAL-From Messrs. Wheelock & Co.'s Report, dated September 10th: Our Homeward Freight market remains in much the same state as when last writing and exports seem to languish in spite of the lowness of exchange. Coastwise:- Here things are worse than ever, in fact one might almost say that coastingtrade is at a standstill; the rice and cotton grops are not yet quite ready for export whilst the weakness in exchange stop coal-dealing more or less, there is consequently very little demand in any direction and the quantity of tonnage seeking employment is daily growing larger. For London and the Continent:-The next cargo-boats on this berth will be the 8 8. Awa Maru" sailing for Mar- seilles, London and Antwerp to-morrow, the s.s. "Jason for Genoa, Marseilles and Liverpool direct on the 15th and 8.8. "Idomeneus " London, Amsterdam and Antwerp on the 17th inst. For Havre and Haniburg: -the 8.8. "Ambria " sails on the 17th inst. For New York via Suez : -this berth is now occupied by the 8.8. "Indramayo" as she has filled her Shanghai allotment she will clear on the 12th inst and be followed by the s.. "Vendalia due to arrive on the lath, sailing on the 18th inst.
