(Mr Vida ( Quorn took the lead at the beginning of this race, but was relieved of it by Glorious Rose, who took his plac« passing the golf stand. Here Spring Rose drew level with Quorn, while Palm Tree was lying last. Glorious Rose led by three lengths at the rock, and at the village dropped to last place Past the post for the first time Glorious Rose led by six lengths from Quoro, while Spring Rose was three lengths behind the second horse. At the football stand Palm Tree was sent ahead, and was within half a length of Spring Rose going up the hill, Preston having dropped out. Glorious Rose was about four lengths ahead as the village was approached, but Quorn began to draw level at the entrance to the straight. Here Spring Rose came to the form and snatched the race. from Quara Glorions Rose being third. Tim--3 min 47 1:5 FOCK. The pari mutuel paid $13 on the winner; $5.70 on the first pouy, $5.30 ou the second; and $8.10 on the third.
