SHARE REPORTS.

HONGKONG, 5th December, 1907.—Our o'r- cular is issued a day earlier than usual, owing to local holiday to morrow, There are Do special features of any importance to report, The market continues to rule dull and without any elasticity. Rates have with very few excep- tions shown a slight decline, bat oloss fairly steady at quotations. Etohange on London 1. V. 2/0; on Shanghai 743. The money mar- ket in London is easier, and the market rate of discount is now quoted at 51.

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais in sym- pathy with a rise in the London rate to £78. have ruled very firm, although the local rale still remains abnormally low in comparison with the London one. Sales have been made at $660 in the early part of the week, and at $665, towards the close. At time of closing a de- mand exista at the latter rate, but no shares are obtainable under 670, and it is reported that buyers at that meet with no response. tionals unchanged and without business.

Na-

MARINE INSURANCES—Unions have been placed at 780, and close steady at that North Chinas have improved in the north to 89. Yangtszes remain out of favonr at 150, and we have no business to report. Cantons still have sellers at 250, but offers at a lower rate fail to bring out shares although it is probable that a small loƐ might be obtained at 2476.

Hongkongs have

FIRE INSURANCES. improved to 3224 with sales and close steady at that rate, Chinas have also improved, and after small sales at 89, close with buyers at 91.

SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos, continue easy with small sales and sellers at $30. A small lot of Star Ferries have changed hands at 11 (new) and more could be placed at that rate, while the old shares continue in request at 21 without bringing any shares on the market. China and Manilas appear to be no longer in request at 15, and we quote 15 nominal at the oluse, Douglases are enquired for at 38, but we have heard of no sales. Shells have ruled firm with buyers, but very few shares have changed hands, holders still expecting higher rates. A few transactions were put through in the early part of the week at 42/6 and 438. but a rise in the London rate to 46s. called a halt, and sellers refused to meet the further demand at higher rates. The stock closes in demand at the equivalent of the London rate with no shares obtainable.

REFINERIES.-We have no business to re- port under this heading and rates remain unchanged.

MINING.-Charbonnages can be placed at the advanced rate of $500, but no shares appear to be available. Raubs have ruled somewhat firmer and close at 81 buyers.

The crushing for the last month was 1,102 ounces for 5,141 tons. Chinese Engineerings have been in demand, but very few shares are available here and only a small local business has resulted at Tls. 15. At time of closing it is possible that a little better rate might be obtained.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks continue out of favour, and with sellers at 98 during the week, the rate fell to 97, at which sales have been effected, the market closing quiet at that rate. Kowloon Wharves show a slight declina at 66, after sales at 67 and 661. Shanghai Docks in the early part of the week improved to 75 with buyers, but at the close sales have been made for March at 76, and the market closes quiet at 74. Hongkew Wharves have declined in the North to 197, but the market closes with buyers at that rate,

LANDS, HOTELS & BUILDINGS.-With the exception of Kowloon Lands, which have declined a point to 35 with sellers, we have no business or changes to report.
