15.05. Lands.—Shanghai Land Investment. There is no change to report, and the market closes at Tls. 103 for the old and Tls. 102 for the new shares. There is no other business to report. Industrial-Ewo Cottons. Considerable business has been done and the market gradually hardened from Tls. 624 for June to Tls. 64. For September shares were placed at Tls. 641, Tls, 65, and Tls. (5), and closed with sellers at Tls. 66. Interna- tional Cottons. There are sellers at Tls. 50. Shanghai Gas Co. A fair number of shares have changed hands this week at Tls. 106. Maatschappij, &c., in Langkats. The market opened at Tls. 290 for June, and receded on the 22nd to Tls. 287Į. This market is proverbially irregular and on Monday the price once more advanced to Tls. 290 and Tls. 292 for June. For September Tls. 300 and Tls. 302} was recorded. The market closes with sellers at Tls. 292), and we think all, or nearly all, the Settlement's requirements have been met. Shanghai Sumatras. There are buyers at Tls. 108 and sellers at Tls. 110. Miscellaneous. -Hall and Holtz. Transactions are reported at $21. Llewellyn & Co. There are buyers at $41. S. Moutrie & Co. Some shares are offering at 49. Shanghai Horse Bazaars have been dealt in at Tls. 44. Telephones have declined to Tls. 57). Loans and Debentures.-Thero is no business re- ported this week.

HONGKONG, 5th July, 1907.-The general condition of our market has undergone no material change during the past week, and though quietness has prevailed we closa fairly steady at current quotations. Exchange on London is to-day quoted at 22% TT, and on Shanghai at 727 T/T.

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais hardened somewhat, and sales of small parcels have been booked at $680 ex the new issue, and at $5221 for the new issue with the first call of £15 paid up. A few fractional certificates have also changed ownership at $19) to 8193 premium, call payable by purchaser. Loadou quotes £79 ex new issue, and £59 for the new issue, first call of £15 paid. Nationals have undergone no change, but are in request at quotation.
MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions chose firm at $760, at which rate small parcels have been fixed during the interval. Cantons have been boked. and more shares are wanted, at $270. North Chinas have sold, and a few more shares are procurable, at Tla. 75. Yangiszes have im. proved to $175 with buyers, and China Traders are still in request at $90.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Chinas have sold at 3861 and $7, and close with buyers at $86. Hong- kong Fires are unchanged and without business,
SHIPPING.- Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have been fixed at $30, $31 § and 830), and a few odd lots are at the moment available at $30. Indos are quiet but with a firmer tendency a $69. Douglases have improved to 841 buyers after small sales at 840 and 8104. Star Ferries and Shell Transports are reglected and without business.
REFINERIES.-China Sugars have declined to $100 at which rate shares are probably procurable. Luzons continue neglected at 821 sellers.
MINING.-Rauls have been booked at S6 and more sharesare obtainable. Charbonnages close in request at $480.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks are easier at $105, after small siles at $106 and $105. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves are procurable at $79, and a slightly lower rate would probably be accepted for a, marketable quantity, New Amoy Docks are still in request at $114. Shanghai Docks are quoted in the latest tele- grams from the north at Tls. 76, and Shanghai and Hongkow Wharves at Tls. 92, both with buyers.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.— Hong- kong Lands are a trifle easier with small sellers at $105. Kowloon Lands have been booked at $37 and West Points again at 850. Hongkong Hotels remain on offer a $118, and Humphreys Estates to a small extent at $103. Shanghai Lands bave hardened, and are now quoted at Tls. 104 and Tie. 103, for the old and new issues respectively.
