TONNAGE.
Hongkong, 29th October. A fair number of charters have been put through during the period under review. From Saigon to this, 8 cente per picul offering; to Philippines, 23 cents per picul last and 24 cents offering; to North Coast Java, 18 cents per picul last. From North Coast Java to Hongkong, 21 cents last for dry sugar. From Iloilo to Ningpo and Chinkiang, 30 cents was paid for a small carrier. From Bangkok to Hongkong, six steamers have been closed at 30 cents and 23 wots (liner terms) and 28 cents and 21 cents (local terms). From New- chwang to Canton, 17 cents per picul last. From Moji or Wakamatau to Canton, good demand resulting in several fixtures at $2.00 to $2.20 per ton; to Hongkong, $1.25 to $1.50 according to size. The following are the settlements:—

SHARE REPORTS.
HONGKONG, 24th October, 1906.--We have nothing of any importance to report. A com. paratively fair amount of business has been transacted during the week, but it has breajof a desultory nature, and without any special Rates. with very few exceptions. feature. continue to show a slight downward tendency, and the market remains without buoyancy or elasticity.

BANKS, Hongkong and Shanghais have changed hands at the improved rate of $813 and the market closes steady at that rafe, don quotes, per Rønter, £95, a drop of 10s, since Nationals are enquired for at our last report. $47, but a few shares, ou offer at 850, fail to find a buyer.
MARINE INSURANCES. The market con. tinues dull, and with the exception of small sales of Cantous at $30, ex dividend of $20 paid ou the 2nd inst., we have no business to report. Unions, Cantons and Yaugtsz -8 are obtainable at quotations, but offers at lower rates meet with no response. China Traders continue in demand. but shares remain scarce and we have no business to report.

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs have been
placed during the week at $10 and more shares
are wanted at the rate. Chinas continue in a
small demand at $95, but none seen available, and we bare no business to report.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have further improved and sales have been effected at $26 and $261, the market closing steady to firm at that rate. With the exception of a small demand for Old Star Ferries, and a decline in Douglases to $41, we have nothing further to report under this heading. Indo- Chinas and China-Manilas remain neglected, and Shell continue in demand at 2tk, tid., all without business.

REFINERIES-Sales of China reported at $147, and the market with further sellers at that rate. main unchanged and without business.
MINING. -Raubs have ruled weak during the week and sales have been made as low as $81. the market closing a little firmer, with small buyers at 881.
DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.-Hong kong and Whampoa Docks have been placed at $152, and more sbares are obtainable at that rate. Kowloons have also declined, and sellers now rule the market at $90, without any sales to re- port. Shanghai Docks have ruled weak with sales in Shanghai at Tls, 10, and with the exception of sales here at Tls. 12 for Decoinber, we have no business to report.
Messrs. J. P. Bisset & Co.'s Share Report, far the week ending October 17th, 1906, states: - A further fall has to be recorded this week in Shanghai and Hongkew Wharves, business having heen done at Tls. 232) October and 235 December There has also been a sharp fall in the price of Langkats, the market closing with sellers at Tls. 2821 October. Cotton Mills have remained steady. Banks. Hongkong and Shangkai Banks. Shares have been bought from Hongkong at $795, the latest quotation being $795 sellers." The London quotation is 293 10%. 6d.
