BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais remain unchanged, with small sales at $795; market closes steady to strong. The London rate re- mains unchanged. Nationals are still enquired for at $37, but shares are scarce and we have no business to report.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macao8 have again been placed at $26; and a few more are wanted at that rate. Indo-Chinas recovered a little during the week and sales were made at $123 and later at $122, closing with buyers at the latter rate. A few forward sales at rather higher than equivalent rates have, however, been put through chiefly for July and August a $127 and $128; market closes steady. Tht London rate remains at £11. 158. Od. on the market.
MINING. No change or business to report.
