TONNAGE.

HONGKONG, 4th November-During the past fortnight freights coastwise have declined. From Saigon to tais, 18 cents per picul offering; to Philippines, 81 cents last; to north coast Java, 30 cents per picul. Java to this, 35 and 87 cents per pioul for wet sugar. From Newchwang to Canton, several steamers have been fixed at 28 cents for small quantities of 15/18,000 picule, and 25 cents for over 20,000 picula. From Wuhu and Chinkiang to Canton, 21 candareens per picul. Bangkok to Hongkong, 30 and 36 cents per picul. From Moji to this, $2.15 per ton has been paid for ready boats, but for December loading ton- nage is obtaidable at $2 per ton; to Shpore, a steamer has been closed in London at $2.15 per ton. Time charters.-Not much demand locally The German steamer Emma Luyken and Norwe- gian steamer Pullur has been chartered for Java trade. The following are the settlements:-

Scalda-British steamer, 3,438 tons, Moji to - Hongkong, $2.05 per ton.

Hopsang British steamer, 1,339 tons, Moji to Hongkong, $2.15 per ton.

Fausang--British steamer, 1,410 tons, Nagasaki to Hongkong, $2.80 per ton

Onsang-British steamer, 1,787 tons, Kuchi- notzu or Moji to Hongkong, $2.15 per tón.

Fooshing-British steamer, 1,423 tons, Bangkok to Hongkong, 36 and 30 cents per picul.

Hangsang-British steamer, 1,356 tʊns, Taiwan- foo to Yingkow, 65 cents per picul.

Decima-German steamer, 794 tons, Newchwang to Canton (part cargo), 29 cents per picul.

Dott-Norwegian steamer, 629 tons, Newchwang to Canton (part cargo), 28 cents per picul.

Else-German steamer, 903 tons, Newchwang to Canton (part cargo), 28 cents per picul.

Opland--Norwegian steamer, 8+3 tons, New- chwang to Canton (25,000 piculs), 25 cents per pical.

Gaea Norwegian steamer, 624 tons, Saigon to one port Fhilippines, 83 cents per picul.

Emma Luyken-German steamer, 1,109 tons, Saigon to one port north coast Java, 30 cents per picul.

Polluz-Norwegian steamer, 730 tons, monthly, 3 months, at $7,000 per month.

Emma Luyken-Gerinan steamer, 1,19 tons, monthly, 3 months, at $7,750 per month (recharter).
