HONGKO G. 18th ||September, 1903, — The general condition of our market has under. gone bat little change during the past week. Banks, Docks, and Sugar have been in some demand, but requirements are now apparently satisfied, and we close with sellers at quotations.
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have been booked at 8630 and $634, closing with sellers at the higher rate. London has advanced to £64. 108. Od. Nationals are somewhat firmer with buyers at $28
MARINE INSURANCES.- Unions are firia with buyers at 3500. At the forthcoming meeting of sharel olders it is proposed to pay dividend of $32 per share for 1902 as against $30 per share pail fo 1901.
China Traders
have changed hands at 6 and $60, aut clos in request at the latter rate. Yangtze are wanted at $135, and Cantons at $18.
FIRE INSURA s-Hongkongs coutinn quit at $325. Chaks of er les at $863 and $87 have jumped to $88 buyers.

Docks, WHARVES AND G DOWNS.-Hong. kong and Whampoa Docks advanced rapidly to $210 during the earlier part of the week, with sales at that figarh and (a small lot) at 8211, but have since eased off and are now procurable at $207. Hongkong and Kowloou Wharves continue in request at $86. New Amoy Docks can be placed at $374. Farnhams are weaker, with sellers at Tls. 137 in the North.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Houg kong Lands after sales at $154 are weaker with sellers at $153. Kowloon Lands are on offer at $35. West Points are quiet at $50. Humphreys Estates are firmer with buyers at $104. Hongkong Hotels are steady at $145 and Oriente Hotels at $57.

SHANGHAI (from Messrs. J P. Bisset & Co.'s share Report of September 11th). - Although a number of stocks have been handled during the past week, only a limited business has been put through. A little uneasiness is felt regarding the coming settlement, which is a pretty large one owing to the continued tightness of money. Demand rate on London to-day is quoted at 2s. 6d. 13/16. Banks.-H. and S. Bank.
The market rate for these is staly at $630, the late t London quotation is 4k. Marine Insur- ance. No business is reported.
