MANILA.-Messrs. W. A. Fitton & Co. say in their Market Report dated Manila P. I., July 6th.— Since the issue of ur circular of 1st ultimo, our Share Market has remained quiet and inactive. Transactions: Small lots of Manila Investment. Philippine Tobacco Trusts, Varaderos, Ice Co., and Maritions have been placed at quotations, but the total amount of sales is of litt'e importance. Demand continues light owing to the stringency of our money market, and the disinclination on the part of would-be i vestors to operate until * our financial system is reorganized. Meeting: The Philippine Tobacco Trust Co., Ld, held its 3rd semi-annual meeting on the 20th ultimo. The Balance Sheet covering the wording of the Company for the six months ending April 30th lust shows the sum of 8143,771.61 carried to the debit of Profit & css A 'ct., as against $111,575.64 at 31st October last. American Bank are pleased to announce that as a result of the earnings of the quarter ending 30th ultimo they have placed the sum of $1,300.00, being the net profits for the quartor, in the Surplus Fund, making the latter now stand $8,000.00 U! S. currency. General: Business continues dull and our Bankers and Merchants are anxiously awaiting to see the result of the change in dur currency system, which it is expected will come into operation very shortly. We sincerely trust that thệ “fifty cent peso will relieve the present tension in financial circles.
