We understand from sources outside that the new roprietors of the Botica are enjoying a fairly lucrative trade, in spite of the present hard times. Genera'.--Business generally is very dull, to put it mildly: however, it is said that it is always "darkest before the dawn," so we think it must be very near "daybreak." While we have great respect for the graduates of our liberal Universities in the States it does seem that the government might do worse than »dd a "practical business man" to their number; this would relieve the other members of an immense amount of work, with which they must necessarily be unfamiliar, and New York, Chicago, St. Louis, and other prominent cities of the U. 8. can redily supply the material.
