HONGKONG, 23rd February. The Annual Race holidays have greatly interfered with business and there is but little to report.
BANKS. Hongkong and Shanghais have changed bands in small lots at 315 and 314 per cent, prem ex div, and close quiet at the former rate. Nationals have found buyers at $26 to 8-7 closing in demand at the higher rate.
MARINE INSURANCES-With the exception of small sales of China Traders at $57, there is nothing to report under this heading.
FIRE INSURANCES, Hongkongs bare changed hands at from 3340 to $350, and close steady at the latter rate. The management of the Company recommends a dividend of $27 per share China fires remain qniet but stondy with small sales at $89.
SHIPPING. Small sales of Hongkong, Can. tou and Macaos are reported at $291. Iudos continue quiet and more or less out of the market at $874. Douglases have been placed in small lots at $48. China Manilas are on- quired for at 8100 but no sales are reported. China Mutuals continuo in demand at quo- tations.

REFINERIES-China Sugars have negotiated at $131 and $132, closing at $133 with probable sellers. Luzons remain unchang. ed and without business.
MINING. The market has ruled very dull and with the exception of a few small sales of Punjoms at $6.10 to $6.25 and of Raubs at $63 there is but little business to report.
DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks Continue quiet and out of the market, with no buyers at quotation. Amoy Docks unchanged and without business. Kowloon Wharfs have been in some demand at 886 and later at 887 some shares have chang- ed hands at the saller rate and the market closes with sellers cash and at equivalent rates ou time. LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong. kong Lands have found buyers in small lots at $122 and close steady at that rate. Hotels remain quiet at $126. with a small business. West Points have ruled steady at $43 but fow shares have changed bands. Humphreys have been negotiated in fair lots at $9, ex div. paid on the 19th instant.
COTTONS. -- Hongkongs have changed hands at $37 and close steady at that rate. In the absence of local business quotations for the Northeru Mills are taken from the last Shang- hai Circulars.
