Fr m Saigon to Hongkong 19 cents per ploil was paid last week, but today only 17 cents pér picul is offered for medium sized carri^rs, prompt loading. To Philippines port 80 centa pa: picul is offered. To 1 port N.C. Java 3 steamers have been chartered at 24 cents per picul. Newchwang to Canton,2 steamers have been placed at 9 cents per picul, and more tonnage is wanted, but at a lower rate Moji/Hongkong, 8:25 per ton has been paid, Binga- pore, $2.50. Ho gay/Hongkong, #170 par too. Suiling vessels-The British bark Rose proceeds to Puget Sound under orders from owners. A number of vessels have been taken to load hence for New York at about 17s 6d per ton of 40 cubic eet.
