(6) Disseminating greening and conservation knowledge/message
In many places in Singapore, labels for dissemination of greening and conservation knowledge/message can be found. Some such messages are stuck on the mirrors of public toilets to enhance public awareness. Consideration should be given to the adoption of this measure.
(7) Building fish ponds in parks
Some parks in Singapore are provided with ponds for fishing activities which are very popular among visitors. In Hong Kong, it may be difficult to organize fishing activities in parks as far as management is concerned. However, as fish ponds serve the purpose of recreation to a certain extent, the provision of fish ponds should be considered when building new parks.
(II) Spiritual Conservation
Scarcity of land, overcrowdedness and packed living space are the congenital deficiencies of Hong Kong. However, this does not necessarily mean that Hong Kong people are in lack of ideological and spiritual development. The crux of the problem, however, is whether we treasure our inner world which comprises interpersonal relationship, the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and re-establishment of the relationship between man and the Creator. The creation of a green environment and the essence of mental health hinge on a calm inner world and on cherishing natural resources so as to achieve an ecological balance to revitalize nature.

A Green Interpersonal Relationship
Open competition, silent contests, gossips and quarrels exist in any relationship between two persons. Mutual suspicion and deception, betrayal of friendship and mutual distrust are the causes of tension in interpersonal relationships. As the saying goes, “Leave yourself more room by making some concession.” Very often, tension in interpersonal relationship is gratuitous. So are the stresses between two persons. If we leave some leeway when getting along with others, we are giving ourselves more room in our interpersonal relationship which will make our lives healthier. Although we live in the concrete jungle of a metropolis where the tempo of life is fast and stresses are all around us, we can remind ourselves to frequent the green areas in the town centre and enjoy ourselves leisurely and relaxedly in a green natural environment.
