Sometime ago when the Members of the Markets and Street Traders Select Committee visited the Kwun Chung Market, the Committee was quite impressed with the modern facilities which were incorporated in this Market. I would say that it is one of the newest and best markets in the territory. Also, the cost is not negligible, and the project cost is $140 millions.
As regards the Kimberley Street Market and RCP, it may be pointed out that both the market and RCP were not financed by the Urban Council but were provided by a private developer at absolutely no cost to the Council. I have asked the Department to supply information on the Kwun Chung Complex and the Kimberley Street Market and Refuse Collection Point for the information of the Members of the Markets and Street Traders Select Committee and the press if they are interested.
MR. B. A. BERNACCHI seconded the motion (in English):-Mr. Chairman, the housewives of Yau Tsim District, I trust, will be very pleased with the Kimberley Street and Kwun Chung Markets which have been recently completed and ready for occupation and I therefore have much pleasure in seconding the Motion.

The purpose of the amendment is to enable the revised hire charges for Urban Council athletic grounds and turf pitches to take effect from 1 November this year. The Council last revised these charges in February 1988.
In June, Members of the Recreation and Finance Select Committees noted that the costs of operating Council's athletic grounds and turf pitches had increased and would continue to do so if hire charges remained at their existing levels. To prevent that, Members approved the new charges presented for
