HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

The purpose of these minor amendments to the Library By-laws are to enable the Council to implement this scheme, whilst retaining a large measure of flexibility. The term "Special Reading Areas" has been used as this is more in accord with the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance.

I beg to move.

MRS. GRACE HO, VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE LIBRARIES SELECT COMMITTEE (in English):-Mr. Chairman, I second the motion.

The question was put.

The motion was carried unanimously.

(2) MR. KENNETH T. C. Lo, CHAIRMAN OF THE RECREATION AND AMENITIES SELECT COMMITTEE, moved the following motion:

"RESOLVED that the Pleasure Grounds (Amendment) By-laws, 1978, be made under section 109 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.”

He said (in English):-Mr. Chairman, as Chairman of the Recreation and Amenities Select Committee, I rise on the motion standing in my name:

"RESOLVED that the Pleasure Grounds (Amendment) By-laws, 1978, be made under section 109 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.”

The amendments proposed to Part II of the Schedule to the Principal By-laws will delete the reference to cinder track and 300-metre all-weather track because there are none in the urban areas, and will prescribe a new scale of fees for the use of Nortex tracks and Indoor Games Halls.

The amendments proposed to Part III of the Schedule to the principal By-laws will delete the reference to the Stadium area of the Boundary Street Sports Ground because it has now been gazetted as a stadium, and will enable the Council to charge the appropriate fee under By-law 18(4) of the principal By-laws for the use of the enclosed running track area of Kowloon Tsai Park.

I beg to move.
