To exercise the powers and functions of the Council in regard to markets generally, and under the Public Health (Food) Ordinance (Chapter 140) and the Markets By-laws made thereunder.

To exercise the powers and functions of the Council (a) under Section 69 and 70 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance (No. 15 of 1935) and under the by-laws relating to Offensive Trades; (b) under the Public Health (Food) Ordinance (Chapter 140) and the Salted and Dried Fish By-laws made thereunder; and (c) in regard to slaughterhouses, and to advise on the planning, construction and operation of the new abattoir.
