On Sunday afternoon, from 4,10 p.m., the first episode of “Brannigan's Bargain," a mystery story written by a young serviceman in Hongkong under the pseudonym "Jack Dorre," will be read from Radio Hongkong's Studio. The story is the first literary effort of a young writer who shows more than average ability.

The story, dramatised by John Keir Cross, is the sequel to Thackeray's "Henry Esmond" and concerns itself with the fortunes of Henry Esmond's twin two young Americans - grandsons whom Thackeray follows in their ex- ploration of the fashionable world of London and rahns-Vienna Tunbridge Wells in the era of George Washington, General Wolfe and Dr Johnson. Sebastian Shaw plays Thackeray and the twins are played by Howard Marion-Crawford and Roy Plomley.
