Wimbledon, July 3.

Rain all morning and most of the afternoon prevented a single match being completed in the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships today. But the decision to end play after about an hour in poor light and when further rain fell may have saved the two top-seeded players in the men's singles-Frank Sedgman, of Australia, and Billy Talbert, of the United States

Talbert was trailing Budge Patty, of the United States, 6-3, 4-6 and 2-5 on Court No. 1, and Sedgman was behind Art Larsen, of the United States, 8-10 and 2-2 on the Centre Court when the tournament referee ordered play to cease für the day.
