Bill To Eliminate "Murder In Boxing"

London, May 8.-Fatalities in the ring, of which there have been nearly 40 since the war-the majority of these in the United States-are the biggest blot on the sport of baxing. Various measures to safeguard boxers against serious injury in the ring have been advocated and introduced by State Boxing Commis sions in America, und now a new bill to "eliminate murder in boxing" has been passed by the Assembly of the State of California.

The new bill would increase the weight of the gloves; require specifically the examining physicians to investigate such conditions as that of the boxer's heart; increase the minimum size of rings from 16 to 18 feet, and require the mat to be two inches thick. Among the safeguards that the State, and is without funds have been suggested in past to enable him to return home.... Los Angeles, Mas 8.- months is a new head shield, Reuter.
