WEEK'S GAMES REVIEWED

(By See Tee)

It is a long time since such a large gathering of soccer enthusiasts was as disappointed as that which congregated at Boundary-street to see Kowloon play Shanghai. Only the last ten minutes play rose above the local second division standard which characterised most of the exchanges. There must have been many sadly disillusioned soccer enthusiasts in Kowloon on Tuesday evening.

result that despite tailed interval, the last two or three minutes of the game were played in very poor light.

SPLENDID OPENING TO THE SEASON

Sweet Revenge For Recreio

All this and brilliant sunshine too heralded in the new softball season last Sunday, when the League competitions started off with flying colours.

There was a record attendance for post-war days- Indies almost equalled in the number of male spectators present. There was music-not for players to keep to timing, of course! It was the band of Fred Castro and his musically talented boys which led the parade of all League players of the men's and women's divisions.

It was ຕ treat to see them again in spic and span uniforms. The very young people, cute in appropriate uniforms, also took part. They were mascots of three teams: · H.K. Baseball Club's Michael Souza. Wahoos Tony (Nini) da Morla and Wildents' Rene da Motta.
