Long-Range Bomber For Britain

The remarkable Bell Aero- cobra single-engine fighter, for which a speed of more than 400 m.p.h. is claimed, may soon he used by Britain as a night fighter, according to reports reaching London from New York.

If this is true, the R.A.F. will have a machine with many of the advantage of a night fighter combined with the characteris- ties of a high-speed single-seat day fighter.

The Aerocobra's unusual design places the engine amidships with the plot reated well forward of it and the propeller shaft passing between his feet. This gives him remarka- bly good visibility-guch as night fighter pilots require,
