Infringements Inside And Outside The Circle
Points For Umpires To Watch
FOR ANY INFRINGEMENT of the Rulos which involves Rule 13—The Frae Hit--whon the broach has occurred (1) outside the circle, a froo hit shall be awarded to the opposing team, and (2) inside the circle, a penalty corner shall bo awarded.
The reference to Rules 16 (a) and 17 are to corner hits. No free hit in the circle may be taken less than five yards from a goal-post, and defenders may take the ball out to a spot five yards in front of that post for the pur- pose of that hit,
This taking of the ball out five yards would not apply to free hit awarded close to the goal-line, but more than five yards away from the nearest goalpost. The hit in this instance would be taken on the spot on which the in- fringement occurred.
A free bit, and this Includes a corner hit, may be pushed or hit at the option of the striker. Um-
sunply because an opponent is stand-
too near him.
