A £1,200 haul by a chauffeur who, in the first air raid alarm of the war, drove off with luggage, including £860 jewellery, while the owners were taking shelter, formed the subject of a claim in the King's Bench Division.
The chauffeur, it was stated,
had obtained employment from
a Labour Exchange with Gor Cara, Ltd., of Queen's Road, Batterson, from whom claimant. Mrs. Helen Grey, of Sloane Avenue, Kensington, hired a car to evacuate herself
