MACAO, June 2 (Our Own Correspondent).-Two outstand- ing epochs in the history of the Portuguese nation are being marked in Macao in an interest- ing programme of patriotic sentiment.

To-day functions were held in the So Cathedral and the Lonl Senado, Municipal Hall of Macao.

The occasion

conmemorates the octocentenary of the establishment of Portugal as a national entity in 1140 and the tercentenary of the rehabi- litation of the Portuguese monarchy in 1010.

At the solemn Te Deun service, the Rev. Fr. Patrlelo. Merdes, Dean of Se Cathedral, officlated and delivered an appropriate address in respect of the close accord of the precepts of religion with the national life throughout the country's history.
