European Motorists »Fined For Bud Parking

A fine of $5 was imposed on G. Merriman, of the Import and Export Department, by Mr. Forrest at Ĉen- tral Magistracy yesterday for causing an obstruction with his car in Queen's Road Central on August 25. Merri- man sald his car broke down, and, though ha telephoned a repair station, nobody arrived until late.

Summoned for a similar offence, L. Well, of Pokfulum, was Ained $5. Well left his car parked almost in the centre of Pottinger Street, leav- ing only enough room for a small ear to pass.

B. Shlek, of the Hongkong Hotel,! was fined $5 for leaving his car in the Pedder Street park for over two hours on August 24.

Mrs. Johnstone, of May Road, was fined $5 for allowing her car to re-1 math stationary outside the Hongkong liutel for longer than necessary August 25.

INDIAN GUARD DISCHARGED Kartar Singh, 20, special guard, was discharged by Ltr. Forrest at Central Magiatrucy yesterday on a charge of malicious damage to a car In Wanchal Road on September 5.

Apart from record programmes the following Items were broadcast: studlo concerts, 32; theatre relnys, 3; studio talks (including Mandarin lessons), 20; and children's concerts, 9.

New Hcences issued were 200 and renewals 385, making a total of 0,735 licences issued during 1939.
