LONDON, Aug. 21 (Reuter)-SIX people were killed and 15 were injured when lightning struck a wooden shelter in a park at ford, London, during a terrific thunderstorm this afternoon. The victims. were mostly women and children.

Much damage was caused and there was considerable flooding of various districts of London and the provinces. Later.

The casualties are now given as seven killed and 18 injured. The victims were women and children who were holding a picnic in brilliant sunshine when a storm broke. They dashed for shelter and were chatting and joking when lightning struck the shed.

Seven persons were killed on the spot and the others were thrown in a heap on the ground.

Their cries of pain were audible a quarter of a mile away,
