NAZIS LAUNCH SPY SCARE CAMPAIGN
A
SPECIAL campaign. designed to draw attention to the growth of espionage in Germany has been launch- ed by Dr. Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda..
Large white posters bearing the one word "Espion- ago!" have made their appearance on the walls of Berlin and other cities.
Request by Mayor La Guardia of New Yorit has been sent to District Attorney Dewey that criminal prosecution be talten against Fritz Kuhn, aboye, lender of the German-American Bund. and his associates. Mayor charges relief tax law evasion. Action may tend to destruction of Bund, ofelats believe.

Other notices show a German soldier, his fingers to his lips in warning, standing before a back- ground of guns and aeroplanes.
The notice bears the words,"* "Spies, Traitors, Saboteurs."
FILM WARNINGS Magazines and newspapers are full of spy stories and each week, under the title of The War in the Shadows," the German radio broad- rasts a playlet emphasising the don- gers of honest German citizens fall- ing into the power of malevolent foreigners.
Recently, too, a series of short films dealing with the spy problem has been shown in the cinemas.
п
One ilm entitled "Who Was It?" shows a party argukig in cafe about Germany's fortifications. Each tries to show that he knows more than the other-to the delight of the sinister "agent" at the next table.
Another Bim is a warning to wo- men nol to gossip about their hus- hands' work.
The most effective warning, how- ever, is considered to be the publlen- tion of announcements of the execu tion of traltors. Hardly A week passes without these red-coloured posters appearing in the streels, und Similar announcements in the news- papera,
"SOLDIERS INVOLVED
The majority of those executed, it is noted, are young, men from the frontier areas such as the Rhineland and Silesia.
