BIG JAPANESE LOSSES

THE CHINESE drive eastward towards the Wuhan cities gained further momentum in Hupch Province yesterday as the result of further Japanese losses east of the Han River.

The Chinese forces claim to have completely cleared the Japanese from the east bank of the Han River. Last month, it is interesting to note the Japanese were not only in complete possession of the cast bank but had also succeeded in penetrating to a distance of about thirty miles further westwards towards Ichang.
