FARMS FOR DUTCH SETTLERS

SYDNEY.

Sir Earle Page, the Commonwealth Minister for Commerte, has decided to make a tour of the coastal areas of New South Wales and southern Queensland to determine the pos- sibilities of further settlement both by sons of Australian farmers and of migrants.

Sir Earle Page says that he believed Bhat many swampy areas on the northern rivers of New South Wales: could be effectively drained and profitably worked by Dutch farmers, who were skilled in the drainage and, treatment of Jaw-lying land. The capital cost of the land would be low, and the areas would be specially. sultable for group settlement, which would make possible the co-opera- tive provision of drainage works. KENYA
